Sitting in Savannah: Telfair Chairs and Sofas
Telfair Academy and Owesn-Thomas House, Telfair Museums, Savannah, Georgia, 2013
Sitting in Savannah was an exhibition I curated to highlight Telfair Museums' collection of chairs and sofas. The exhibit was displayed in gallery form to present the furniture as sculptural objects, and highlighted in the Telfair Academy and Owens-Thomas House period rooms (not pictured) to bring focus to their functional usage. A publication accompanied this exhibition. This installation was presented alongside the traveling exhibition The Art of Seating: 200 Years of American Design, organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, Florida, which I staged at the Telfair Academy.
